Role: Part-Time Game Localization Specialist [EN>MS]
As a member of our team, you will help bring immersive gaming experiences to Korean players by ensuring accurate and culturally adapted translations.
Roles & Responsibilities
- ✔ Report and document translation errors, typos, grammar issues, cultural inaccuracies, and other localization bugs.
- ✔ Verify contextual accuracy of in-game text (e.g., dialogues, menus, subtitles) and ensure consistency with the source content
- ✔ Translate/MTPE/Review content accurately while preserving cultural relevance.
- ✔ Adapt content to suit the language and culture of the target audience.
- ✔ Play through pre-release versions of video games to identify language mistakes and cultural inconsistencies.
✔ Provide detailed reports of localization errors, such as typos, grammar issues, and dialogue inaccuracies.
✔ Work closely with localization teams to ensure in-game text and audio are culturally appropriate for target audiences.
✔ Verify that localized content aligns with context and gameplay experience.
✔ Ensure the highest quality standards while balancing adherence to tight deadlines. - ✔ Under certain circumstances, working at a designated office location or during specified time periods may be required.
Requirementslities:
- ✔ Full proficiency in English and Malay.
- ✔ Exceptional translation or proofreading skills; candidates with a background in translation, proofreading, or language-related fields are preferred.
- ✔ Strong knowledge of video game terminology and culture.
- ✔ High cultural sensitivity, with the ability to identify potentially sensitive content related to culture, politics, or religion.
- ✔ Ability to work independently, delivering high-quality results with minimal supervision.
- ✔ Detail-oriented, with a proven ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- ✔ Proficiency in transcreation (creative translation) is a plus.
- ✔ Familiarity with games and in-game Localization Quality Assurance (LQA) testing is preferred.
- ✔ This is a part-time position with the option for remote work.
- ✔ Being available to work on site/ during standard hours (9 AM – 6 PM GMT+8 or 9) is considered a plus.
